It is the same system which is used for the old locomotives.. These machines were and are fed up by coil or woods which are put in the burning chamber  by the engine driver. The age of the steam tractors in the agriculture can be considered, historically as a moment of transition, a necessary tecnichal passagge towards the endothermics engines, whose low ratio weight/power brought the mechanization in the agriculture.
